A serious incident has shocked Naples, where a 25-year-old man called 112 to confess to stabbing his sister to death.
When the carabinieri arrived at the apartment, they found 23-year-old Noemi Riccardi dead, while her brother, Vincenzo Riccardi, immediately admitted responsibility for the attack, stating that he had acted in a "state of madness."
According to investigators, immediately after the crime he also made a video call to the mother, showing her the girl's body. The Carabinieri of the Nola station arrested the 25-year-old at the scene, while the Prosecutor's Office opened an investigation to discover the motives and circumstances of the incident.
Investigative sources say that both Vincenzo and his sister Noemi were being treated at the same mental health center in Nola. Investigations are now focusing on their medical history and the family dynamics that may have led to the serious crime.
The alarming call came from the suspected perpetrator himself, who announced that he had stabbed his sister. Law enforcement found him still inside the apartment, in a serious state of agitation, without attempting to leave. Emergency doctors could only confirm the young woman's death.
According to preliminary estimates, Noemi was stabbed at least six times. The murder weapon, a kitchen knife, was seized at the scene. Their mother was not at home at the time of the attack.
"I was furious, I couldn't take it anymore," Vincenzo is said to have told officers, while his version is being verified in detail.
Noemi Riccardi, 23, lived with her mother and brother in the same apartment. Vincenzo, 25, does not appear to have had any previous history of domestic violence. The prosecution is working to reconstruct the family history and any elements that may help to fully elucidate the motive.
