
An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale struck Denizli in western Turkey, with tremors felt as far away as Izmir.
Turkish authorities report that there are no casualties or serious damage to buildings and infrastructure.
The strong tremor was recorded early Monday morning, causing panic among residents.
According to the Kandilli Observatory in Istanbul, the earthquake had its epicenter in the Denizli–Buldan area and was registered with a magnitude of 5.1 on the Richter scale at a depth of about 7.5 kilometers.
