Greece was shocked today by a serious event that happened at midnight. An anonymous person called a media and announced that after 40 minutes a bomb will explode near the Ministry of Labor.
The area was immediately surrounded by large police forces and the bomb exploded at 01:29 am (local time).
The main suspects are a far-left terrorist organization called Self-Defense of the Revolutionary Class.
The two phone calls
At 00:49 an anonymous person called the Newspaper Editors warning of a bomb in the Ministry of Labour.
According to the information, there was also a second phone call, in which it is said that the device was placed outside a bank located near the ministry, in Korai.
According to the publication of the Editors' Gazette, an unknown person warned of a high-powered explosive device on Stadiou street in Alpha Bank shortly before one after midnight. The responsibility, according to his words, is assumed by the self-defense of the revolutionary class.
Preliminary investigations into the case are carried out by the Antiterrorist Service (DAEEB).
Legal experts are investigating the composition of the bomb and have launched a search to find the perpetrators. The organization "Self-defense of the revolutionary class", which the police say is a terrorist group of the extreme left, is the first time it appears in Greece.
Authorities suspect a resurgence of activity by left-wing Marxist extremists, who have planted dozens of homemade bombs and explosive devices over the past 10-15 years.
Subsequently, the Greek authorities were able to neutralize some of them, sending to prison for 10-20 years the members of these groups arrested during the several-year war of the Greek state against the Marxist groups of the extreme left.

Today, February 3, 2024, at 00:48, the Immediate Action Center was notified through a phone call from Gazeta e Redaktorovë that they received a call regarding the placement of an explosive substance in the Ministry of Labor, which would explode in 40 minutes.
The area is surrounded by police forces who immediately went to the scene, diverting the traffic.
The mechanism exploded at 01:29, causing material damage.
