A video of an Israeli hostage, who was kidnapped in the Palestinian Islamist organization's bloody attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, was released today by the armed wing of Hamas.
In the video, which lasts several seconds, the hostage, extremely weak and visibly emaciated, is seen being held inside a tunnel.
The French News Agency (AFP) has not been able to verify the authenticity of the video, nor the date it was recorded.
Israeli media identified the hostage as Eviatar David, 24, who appeared in late February in a video showing the release of other hostages, which was released by the Palestinian Islamist group.
He was kidnapped on October 7, 2023, from the Nova music festival area in southern Israel.
In the new video, Eviatar David alternates between appearing on screen with children suffering from malnutrition, a clear reference to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, which is threatened by a "general famine," according to the UN.
Yesterday, Islamic Jihad, an organization allied with Hamas, released another video showing 21-year-old Rom Braslavsky, an Israeli-German citizen, who was also kidnapped on October 7, 2023.
Of the 251 people kidnapped that day, 49 remain detained in Gaza, 27 of whom are dead, according to the Israeli military.
