Shocking images have been released from Gaza, showing how planes are dropping aid from the air to Palestinians.
The video was released by French President Emmanuel Macron, while the packages being thrown are precisely the aid that France has sent to Gaza.
A total of 40 tons of aid is expected to be dropped on the Palestinian enclave. Other countries, including Spain and the United Kingdom, have joined the effort.
"Faced with the absolute emergency, we have just carried out a food distribution operation in Gaza. Thank you to our Jordanian, Emirati and German partners for their support, as well as to our dedicated military personnel," Macron wrote.
According to the UN, Gaza residents are at "risk of starvation" after 22 months of war between Israel and Hamas: a situation that is increasingly worrying the French president, who plans to recognize a Palestinian state in September.
"Air deliveries are not enough," the French leader complained in the same post. "Israel must open full humanitarian access to address the risk of famine."
In detail, these packages are equipped with several parachutes. According to the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and the Armed Forces, the aid "includes several tons of food supplies distributed during various air rotations, spread over several days."
Face à l'urgence absolue, nous venons de conduire une opération de larrage de vivres à Gaza.
