A dangerous incident occurred this Sunday, December 7, at Istanbul's Sabiha Gökçen Airport, where an AJet passenger plane, flying the Pristina-Istanbul flight, skidded off the runway immediately after landing.
The news was confirmed by the Kosovo Embassy in Turkey, which in an official statement announced that all passengers were evacuated safely, without the need to use emergency slides. There are no reports of injuries, while the passengers continued their journey to their destinations in a regular manner.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with flight number TKJ76Q / VF102, according to the announcement, had completed a routine landing, but during the movement on the runway it went off it, stopping at the edge, in an area with soft terrain. The AJet company said that the cause may have been heavy rainfall, which affected the maneuvering of the aircraft.

The incident caused the diversion of several other flights, while airport authorities decided to temporarily close the runway until the operation to remove the aircraft and restore security in the area was completed.
The Embassy of Kosovo has also made available contacts for citizens who need assistance or additional information. Currently, emergency and technical teams at the airport are on the ground to ensure that the situation returns to normal as soon as possible.
This incident once again raises questions about flight safety during bad weather and the measures that airlines should take to avoid similar situations. Fortunately, this time there were no consequences for the lives of passengers.
