" I disagree with Merz's criticism of 'MAGA' culture. These are political assessments; each leader expresses the positions he considers appropriate, but it is not a matter for the European Union ," declared Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, responding to a question about the German Chancellor's comments.
Speaking from Ethiopia, where the Italy-Africa Conference is taking place, Meloni stressed that more needs to be done to strengthen relations between Europe and the United States. She added that "Europe needs to take more care of itself," especially in the area of security.
" We need to appreciate more what unites us. This is essential, especially for European countries and for Italy ," she said, referring to the transatlantic partnership.
Meloni also stressed that Europe must work to return as a true geopolitical actor on the international stage.
Regarding the Peace Board, the Italian Prime Minister announced that Italy will participate as an observer country.
