
Regardless of the degree of international pressure for restraint, Israel will act alone if it is determined to respond to Iran.
This could be a blow to Iranian proxies rather than Iran itself, and it could happen in the coming weeks, not soon.
"The Israeli mentality is that it will act only if it is necessary. They would like to have the support of the USA, but regardless of that, if they decide to attack Iran, then they will do it even without the support of the internationals", experts say.
Israel does not want to go to war with Iran, but the red line has been crossed.
"They cannot accept the fact that Iran has attacked them. The Israeli government thinks it should send a message to Iran," says the expert.
Iranian civilians themselves do not want an escalation, but the fact that they have lived for years under the threat of attack by Iran and other proxies shows their support for the military.
