
Japan and the United States will continue to cooperate on sanctions imposed against Russia under the G7 agreement of a year ago.
Following a meeting between US Treasury Deputy Secretary Wally Adeyemo and Japan's Deputy Finance Minister for International Affairs Masato Kanda, the two announced that they had exchanged views on global issues.
Both have also expressed their continued support for Ukraine.
The G7 countries undertook a year ago to limit exports to Russia. Leading the group for 2023 was Japan.
