
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has ordered his country's armed forces, munitions industry and nuclear weapons sector to speed up preparations for war.
According to information, his move comes to oppose unprecedented confrontational moves by the United States.
During a statement, Kim said Pyongyang would expand strategic cooperation with "independent anti-imperialist" countries, according to the KCNA news agency.
North Korea is strengthening ties with Russia, among others, as Washington accuses Pyongyang of supplying Moscow with military equipment for use in its war with Ukraine, while Russia provides technical support to help North Korea expand capabilities its military.
