The senior Russian diplomat, Sergey Lavrov, during his speech at the UN Security Council Assembly, attacked the West for its stance on the war in Ukraine.
He began his speech by claiming that the West is to blame for increasing the risks of global conflict - accusing the US and its allies of "meddling" in Ukrainian politics since the fall of the old Soviet Union.
Lavrov said this in his speech at today's UN Security Council meeting in New York, which is chaired by Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama.
" Unfortunately, after the cold war, the West thought it could decide the fate of all humanity. They have returned to selective norms, this has led to the shock of political stability, which has led to the opening of foci of conflict. The actions of the US and its allies have marked violations since the fall of the Soviet Union, the satellite countries of the US have intervened in various issues.
There have been attempts by pro-American candidates in Kiev, for Ukraine to approve a third round of elections and interference in the country's internal affairs.

The principle of non-interference in internal affairs, the putschists decided to deny the Russian-speakers in the country. Ukraine has turned a blind eye to these things, trying to present them as a violation of territorial integrity.

So the West and the EU have influenced the undermining of the Minsk agreements. We have an agreement between France, Germany and Ukraine, which stipulates the establishment of the electronic system in Dombas, but nothing was done. A 3-way agreement between Russia, Ukraine and the EU was sought to advance our relationship, but this too was undermined. The Foreign Ministers said that 10 years of talks are better than 1 day of war.
I want to remind the Secretary of State that Zelensky signed a decision prohibiting the holding of talks with Putin's government. If the US was interested, you would insist that this decision of Zelensky be annulled.
Those who call for territorial integrity do not know the essence of the Minsk agreements. The repeated calls for this context in relation to NATO, the arrogant attitude of the USA that we saw today, show a lack of desire for discussions. This is clear neo-colonialism. The US and its allies want to openly privatize the United Nations secretariat ," Lavrov said.
