The Secretary General of the UN, Antonio Guterres, has asked both parties involved in the conflict, Israel and Iran, to put aside the revenge and stop the attacks.
"The Secretary-General reiterates that it is time to stop the dangerous cycle of retaliation in the Middle East," his spokesman said in a statement.
"The Secretary-General condemns any act of retaliation and calls on the international community to work together to prevent any further developments that could lead to devastating consequences for the entire region and beyond," he asserted.
Iran attacked Israel last week with drones and missiles in response to claims that Israel attacked the Iranian consulate in Syria. Today, Israel decided to retaliate by firing rockets.
