The investigation is still ongoing and it is believed that the attacker, Thomas Matthew Crooks, acted alone. According to foreign media reports, Crooks lay on the roof of the building, which is located about 118 meters from where Trump gave his speech, and fired at the stage. Alexander claims he shouldn't have been able to get so close.
" Once I saw that aerial photograph of what they said happened, it immediately made no sense to me. You cannot ride in broad daylight on the roof of a building that is only a few hundred meters from the president. You can't get into that position with a gun, while the president is giving a speech, it must be done to ensure the safety of a person, who must first look at the roofs around where the person is and that are within the range of the weapon , "said Alexander.
" So something happened, but I'm not pointing the finger at anyone. It is very clear that this guy had help from other people to be in that place at that time. Either someone turned a blind eye or it was strategically planned to be planned to some level, because such events, such security, is not a small thing - and this is a very visible place , "he added.
According to him, it is very strange to him that someone who is good enough to get so close to the most difficult target in the whole world ends up missing that target.
