Who are the most influential people in Europe? Meet the 28 famous names

A list of the most influential people in Europe has been published by Politico. At the top, as the most powerful man in Europe is Donald Tusk, who according to Politico is bringing change to Europe.

There are three lists: Changers, Disruptors, and Dreamers.

"For two decades, two men have fought for the soul of Poland: In the blue corner, fighting for a democratic, modern and European vision of the future: Donald Tusk, a former prime minister who served as president of the European Council before returning as opposition leader. In the red corner, conspicuous to traditionalists, conservative Catholics and nationalists: Jaroslaw Kaczynski, head of the ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party. Now, after eight years in Kaczynski's power , the country is on the threshold of a new era of Tusk, and it seems that the wind of change is blowing again in Poland, Politico points out.

Politico lists in the category of "changers" officials "in action", at the head of which is the Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, who describes her as a chameleon.

Media reports that Meloni's rise last year sent shockwaves through centrists across the continent and beyond. Brussels was preparing for a member of a post-fascist party, and thought it would be a "problem child in the EU". Kiev was bracing for the possibility that Italy would soften support for Ukraine and lift sanctions on Russia.

"But a year later, Meloni has built an important Italy, having moved to implement constitutional reforms that will greatly strengthen the powers of the prime minister. And she's still putting a lot of effort into her far-right base."
