Overnight attacks by the Israeli army across the Gaza Strip have caused a large number of deaths and injuries, according to a statement from the Hamas-run Interior Ministry in Gaza.
In a Telegram post, the ministry said the rockets hit last night and early this morning. He said that a number of houses were hit "without warning".
The ministry also shared several photos showing destroyed buildings and emergency services searching for bodies under the rubble.
One of the areas hit was Khan Younis, in southern Gaza, where Palestinian officials say 27 people have been killed and dozens wounded in two separate Israeli attacks in northern Gaza. Another 10 were killed in Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, the ministry added.
