A lion named Zeus escaped from a cage at a zoo in the Manavgat district of the resort city of Antalya in southwestern Turkey and attacked a local resident, Turkish newspaper Hurriyet reported. According to Turkish media, efforts to capture the animal are continuing with the help of drones.
After fleeing, the lion reportedly attacked a man identified as Suleyman Kir, who was working a kilometer away from the park, seriously injuring him.
A medical team later took Kirin to the hospital, while gendarmerie and police took security measures in the area and launched a search operation, Hurriyet reported.
The animal was last seen between the Ilica and Kumkoy neighborhoods.
