Hospitals in the Gaza Strip have been under intense bombardment and total Israeli blockade for 35 days. They try to continue operations and treatment services with primitive methods due to the lack of electricity.
The complete blockade of fuel delivery to Gaza since October 7, when the Israeli army began its offensive, has left hospitals in the dark. Health teams at the Palestinian Red Crescent-affiliated Al-Quds Hospital in Gaza are working with minimal resources due to a power outage due to running out of fuel.
Through operating rooms immersed in darkness, doctors perform operations under the light of hand-held electrics, reports the Turkish media Anadolu.
According to the information transmitted by the Palestinian Red Crescent regarding the latest situation in the hospitals, it is said that "there is a growing threat that the hospital will stop all activities within a few hours due to running out of fuel".
The hospital staff, despite the interruption of communication and internet that has been going on for three days, is making intensive efforts so that the hospital can continue to provide services. The hospital has been under isolation for 5 days since all the roads leading to it are closed due to the bombings in its surroundings.
According to the data of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, 18 hospitals and 46 health centers have remained out of service as a result of the Israeli attacks. Officials warn that in addition to interruptions in other units, over 3,000 children may be deprived of dialysis and oncology services.
Due to the Israeli attacks, 50 thousand pregnant women have been deprived of care and follow-up of the birth process for a period of more than a month.
The Israeli army hit Al-Shifa Hospital, the largest health facility in Gaza where thousands of wounded and civilians are located, Al-Nasr Children's Hospital, Al-Ahli Baptist, Türkiye-Palestine Friendship Hospitals as well as the areas around Al- Quds and Indonesian associated with the Palestinian Red Crescent. Hundreds of Palestinians were killed and injured during the attacks.
