Iran and Israel launch simultaneous attacks...
Iranian state television just announced that the country has launched the second wave of Operation "True Promise" against Israel tonight.
State television said this time the attack is a combination of drones and "more than 100" missiles, with Haifa and Tel Aviv being the main targets tonight.
" The attack will disrupt the sleep of residents ," state television said.
Sirens were also heard in Amman, the capital of Jordan. Jordan has now closed its airspace.
Israeli media reported that explosions were heard in the Haifa and Kiryat Ata areas. It was not immediately clear whether the rockets hit the ground or were intercepted. A witness told Reuters that several rockets were seen flying over Jerusalem.
The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) has identified that several rockets were recently launched from Iran towards Israeli territory and has instructed citizens to take shelter.
" Defense systems are working to intercept the threat. You must enter the protected areas as soon as you receive the alert and remain there until further notice. Exiting the protected area will only be permitted after receiving clear instructions; you must continue to act according to the instructions of the Home Front Command ," the IDF said.
On the other hand, the Israel Defense Forces say that their Air Force is currently attacking military targets in Tehran, in parallel with the activity of intercepting missiles launched by Iran.
The Israel Fire and Rescue Service says it has responded to several incidents in the country's coastal and northern areas, including rocket debris, damage to residential buildings and fires in open spaces. Firefighting crews are on the way, the unit says.
Israel is also carrying out airstrikes in Yemen, at the same time as it exchanges fire with Iran, Israeli media reports.
Israeli Army Radio reports that the objective of the mission is to assassinate a Houthi militia official. It is reported that the results of the mission are being assessed.
The Israel Broadcasting Authority also reported that the Israeli air force was attacking targets in Yemen and quoted an unidentified official as saying that if the operation succeeds, it will be of great importance.
