The White House is planning a possible trilateral meeting between Volodymyr Zelensky, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Budapest, Politico reports, citing sources who say the Secret Service is preparing for the summit in Hungary.
Earlier, it was said that the meeting would be held in Geneva. Switzerland itself has shown itself open to hosting peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, even with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis said in an interview with CNN.
“We are ready for such a meeting and we are grateful for the trust that has been given to us,” Cassis said on the sidelines of a diplomatic conference in Bern. “ We have always expressed our willingness, but everything depends on the willingness of the great powers ,” he added.
He said that if President Putin were to attend any meeting in Switzerland, the Swiss government would take special measures due to the international arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against him.
