The high temperatures are keeping active a number of fire foci in North Macedonia, while the first victim as a result of the fires in the vicinity of Kumanova has been recorded.
A 75-year-old man is the first victim of the fire that engulfed several areas in North Macedonia. He died as a result of asphyxiation in a village near Kumanova.
A big fire is approaching the town of Dojrani i Vjetër in the southeast of the country. The authorities have started the evacuation of citizens, while warning about the danger from the possible explosion of old mines in that area.
