Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a series of virtual meetings with key European and NATO leaders ahead of his much-anticipated meeting with Donald Trump in Florida, heralding a crucial stage for the future of peace in Ukraine. He said he had discussed with his “Berlin Group” partners “the main documents that will be at the center of the meeting with President Trump,” with a focus on security and the economy.
According to him, “90 percent of our 20 points are already finalized, because we have solutions,” while adding that “some may not like them, but they exist.” Zelensky confirmed that Ukraine will benefit from the approved $100 billion fund from the European Union, while emphasizing that the security guarantees that Ukraine needs “must be provided by the US and European partners.”
In his message after the video conference with European leaders and NATO representatives, attended by well-known figures such as Emmanuel Macron, Giorgia Meloni, Donald Tusk, Ursula von der Leyen and others, Zelensky thanked the allies for their "coordination and support" and said that "we will continue the conversation tomorrow, after the meeting with President Trump."
He said the goal is to build a common, clear and strong position to prevent Vladimir Putin from manipulating the situation and avoiding a real agreement. “Strong positions are necessary both on the front line and in diplomacy so that Putin does not have the opportunity to avoid a just and real end to the war,” Zelensky said, adding that “the world has enough power to guarantee security and peace.”
With this clear stance ahead of the meeting with Trump, the Ukrainian president is trying to mobilize international support and strengthen the framework of the peace plan, presenting Ukraine as a constructive party with concrete proposals for solutions.
