Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is in Florida today, where he is expected to meet with US President Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago estate on Monday afternoon. The meeting comes at a sensitive time for the Middle East, with the Gaza crisis still unresolved and tensions with Iran rising.
Netanyahu has held several important meetings with US administration officials in advance. He has met with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, as well as close White House advisers on the Middle East, including Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. The talks have focused largely on efforts to move forward with the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire plan and the need to ensure Israel's security in the face of external threats, particularly from Iran and its allied militias in Syria and Lebanon.
The meeting with Trump is expected to be crucial for political and military coordination between the two countries at a time when international positions on the Gaza crisis remain fragmented. Netanyahu is demanding that Washington strongly support further steps in the intervention in Gaza, especially in terms of control over the liberated areas and the establishment of a stable administration after the conflict.
