Israel has warned that attacks on Iran will increase. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israeli forces are "strike- ing the heart of Tehran with increasing intensity."
The statement was made from the terrace of the military headquarters in Kirya, Tel Aviv, after a meeting with Defense Minister Israel Katz, Mossad head David Barnea and the Chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Eyal Zamir.
According to Netanyahu, attacks on targets in Iran will not only continue, but "will further intensify in the coming days," signaling a new phase of military operations.
He described the campaign as an operation “like never before,” noting that Israel is also acting “with the support of the United States.” At the same time, the Israeli prime minister acknowledged that the situation also has consequences for his country. “However, these are painful days, ” Netanyahu said, referring to the Iranian missile attacks that hit Tel Aviv and Beit Shemesh.
Netanyahu added that "my heart goes out to the families" of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
The Israeli prime minister stressed that the aim of the operations is to strike what he called a "terror regime."
"Joining forces allows us to do what I have wanted to do for 40 years: to strike the regime of terror with force. That is what I promised and that is what will be done," Netanyahu declared.
