For example, when it comes to his son Barron. The Republican candidate for president of the USA has now spoken about the 18-year-old on American television.
Fox News caught up with Trump for a chat at his Florida estate.
Trump spoke about the July 13 attack, among other things, during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. At that time, the American Thomas Matthew Crooks shot at Trump with a rifle.
"Barron was out taking tennis lessons," Trump said, speaking for the first time about when his son learned of the attack.
"He is a good tennis player. And someone ran up and said, 'Barron! Barron! That's why your father was shot!'”
“He loves his dad,” Trump declared, adding “he's a good boy, a good student, actually a good athlete — and he yelled, 'Mom! What's up? What's up?'”
Barron's mother, Melania Trump, 54, was sitting in front of the television when Crooks fired.
"She couldn't believe it. She actually saw it live, can you imagine?” To this day, she cannot talk about the attack."
In a statement, Melania Trump called Thomas Crooks, who was shot dead by a sniper, a "monster."

Barron Trump is the only child of Donald and Melania and lives in seclusion from the public. His father obviously wants to change that.
In May, Barron was nominated by Republicans in Florida, where the family lives at their luxury Mar-a-Lago estate, to be a delegate to the party's national convention. However, according to Melania's office, he had to pass due to "previous commitments".
Barron first appeared at his father's campaign event in July. The photos show him smiling and with his fist raised in the air.
"It's great to have you here," Donald Trump said on stage, adding that Barron "had such a beautiful and simple life." This is now "a little different".
Barron is currently studying at a university in New York. If his father wins the US election on November 5, the public may see more of him.
