"I can't take this anymore," Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor told Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell when it was first announced 14 years ago that a British newspaper would publish an article about the trio.
His email conversation with the US-based couple was among the Epstein documents released on Wednesday, including some that mentioned Donald Trump.
The former prince's response came after he was sent a reply email that the Mail on Sunday newspaper had sent to Maxwell in March 2011, which made numerous claims about Andrew.
According to the files released Wednesday, Andrew's response was "what is all this? I don't know anything about this! You have to tell me, please. This has nothing to do with me. I can't take this anymore."
The latest publication comes after Andrew was asked by Democrats in the US Congress to answer questions as part of the investigation into Epstein, who died in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
The Democratic member of the House Oversight Committee, Congressman Suhas Subramanyam, told BBC Two's Newsnight that Andrew had not yet responded to the committee's invitation to testify before the committee.
He said the former prince "doesn't need to get on a plane to testify, he can do it remotely."
Virginia Giuffre, a prominent accuser of Jeffrey Epstein, claimed that Andrew had sex with her three times when she was a teenager.
Andrew, who has denied the allegations, reached an out-of-court settlement with Giuffre in 2022, which contained no admission of responsibility or apology.
He was stripped of all his titles earlier this month, after Giuffre's posthumous memoirs cast a new spotlight on Andrew's ties to Epstein and Maxwell.
Three emails, released by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee, show that Trump was mentioned several times by Epstein in emails exchanged with Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex trafficking.
They also released emails between Epstein and author Michael Wolff, who has written numerous books about Trump.
An email from Epstein to Maxwell, sent in April 2011, claims that Trump spent hours at Epstein's home with a person whose name has been redacted.
"I want you to understand that the dog that didn't bark is Trump. The victim spent hours at my house with him," Epstein wrote in one of the documents that have been released.
The White House later said the unidentified "victim" mentioned was Giuffre, who died by suicide earlier this year.

On March 6, 2011, the day the Mail on Sunday newspaper published its story about Giuffre, Epstein sent an email to "The Duke," asking, "Are you okay?" He added, "These stories are complete and utter fantasy."
In an email to his publicist in July of that year, Epstein wrote: “The girl who accused Prince Andrew can easily be proven to be a liar.
"I think Buckingham Palace would love it. You should get someone to investigate the girl Virginia Roberts, who has caused all this agro (sic) to the Queen's son."
"I promise you she's a fraud. You and I will go to Ascot (sic) for the rest of our lives."
The last previously reported contact between the pair was when the then business secretary took advice from Epstein on a banking deal in March 2010, just months after the American businessman's release from prison for child sex offences, as reported by the Daily Telegraph.
The new documents include an email from Epstein to Lord Mandelson on November 6, 2016, shortly after the colleague's birthday, which read "63 years old. You did it."
Lord Mandelson responds less than 90 minutes later by saying: "Simple. I have decided to extend my life by spending more time in the US."
Epstein then responds "in Donald's White House," referring to the US presidential election taking place later that week.
Lord Mandelson was removed from his post as UK ambassador to the US in September over his links to Epstein, after emails showed the colleague sent him messages of support after he pleaded guilty to sexually exploiting a minor in 2008.
Lord Mandelson, who has repeatedly said he regrets his relationship with Epstein, declined to comment on the emails when contacted by the BBC.
