Abbas Araghchi accuses the US of destabilizing the global oil market and warns that Iran has "many surprises" in store.
Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi sharply criticized the United States' military operations against Iran and called them an "epic mistake."
In a post on social media, Araghchi used the phrase "Operation Epic Mistake," ironically mocking the name Washington has given to its military campaign, "Operation Epic Fury."
He also released a snapshot of global oil prices to highlight the impact of the conflict on international energy markets.
"We know that the US is plotting against our oil and nuclear power plants in the hope of containing a major inflationary shock. Iran is fully prepared," Araghchi wrote.
He added that Tehran has other measures at its disposal to respond to developments.
"We also have many surprises in store," he declared.
In another post, the Iranian minister stressed that Iran does not intend to harm American citizens.
“Iran does not want to harm ordinary Americans, ” Araghchi wrote.
His statements come at a time when the clash between Iran and the United States has caused a sharp rise in oil prices and uncertainty in global energy markets.
