A passenger plane traveling from the United Kingdom to Egypt has been forced to make an emergency landing in Crete due to the strange behavior of a passenger.
The 38-year-old British woman, who was traveling with her husband and young child, was intoxicated.
She refused to follow the crew's instructions and became aggressive, putting the safety of the flight at risk.
For this reason, the captain requested a diversion of the plane and landed at Heraklion airport, where Greek police arrested the passenger as soon as the plane doors opened.
Instead of arriving in Egypt for a vacation, she ended up in detention and is expected to face charges of dangerous behavior on board.
Other passengers described the woman as "out of control."
This is a recurring incident. Just this week, a Ryanair flight from London to Alicante was forced to land in Toulouse after a British passenger tried to open the emergency exit. Last month, a flight from Manchester to Ibiza was delayed after a drunk passenger refused to fasten his seatbelt and was dragged away by police, amid cheers from angry passengers.
