The head of Ukrainian military intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, has stated that February 2026 will be a favorable period for reaching a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia.
According to him, this month represents a potential window for significant diplomatic breakthroughs, both for the Ukrainian and Russian sides. Quoted by RBC Ukraine, Budanov stressed that several factors influence this assessment – including the intensity of military operations, the heating season, and other conditions related to the political and economic readiness of both countries to negotiate.
He said that "there are many variables at play," but current analysis indicates that that period will be more appropriate to bring the parties to the negotiating table and seek a solution that can stop the war.
