The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensyy, has stated that he has reached a very important agreement for the training of pilots in France.
Through a post on the "Telegram" social network, he said that he had a telephone conversation with President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday, where the agreement was reached.
" Our coalition of modern warriors is getting stronger ," he said.
Zelenskyy did not elaborate on what training would be undertaken. France has no F-16 fighter jets Ukraine has recently been promised by Denmark and the Netherlands, but it does have French-made Rafale fighter jets and earlier-generation Mirage 2000 jets.
The Ukrainian president added that he and Mr Macron had also discussed what France could do to help protect the Ukrainian city and region of Odesa, critical for grain exports, but gave no details.
Last month, the French foreign ministry said last month it would step up its military support for Ukraine, particularly in strengthening air defense capabilities.
