Canada has decided to give Kiev nearly 400 million euros, on top of its existing commitments in military aid to Ukraine over the next three years.
Zelensky has already secured another major military package from the US following his visit to Washington, and Canada followed suit just a day later - albeit with a much smaller commitment.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told the Canadian Parliament about the additional funding with President Zelensky in attendance. The Ukrainian leader delivered his speech thanking the Prime Minister and the Canadian government to rapturous applause and standing ovations.
" Canadian support for Ukraine with weapons and equipment has allowed us to save thousands of lives. Canada's leadership in sanctions against Russia for this war and terror really encouraged others in the world to follow your lead," Zelensky said in his speech . .
