Russia has not yet received the official text of the updated draft agreement on resolving the conflict in Ukraine, which was amended after consultations held in Geneva between the United States and Ukraine on Sunday. The news was confirmed by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
During a press conference, Peskov said that Moscow had not received the new document, although it had heard public statements about the results of the meetings. “We have not seen any drafts yet, we have only read statements from the discussions held in Geneva. We have not received anything official yet,” he said, responding to a question from the TASS agency. According to him, the Kremlin is aware that some adjustments have been made to the version that was previously sent to the Russians, but stressed that Moscow has not received the final version to evaluate.
On Sunday, Washington and Kiev held consultations on a 28-point peace plan proposed by the US. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio described the meeting as the “most productive” since the beginning of the conflict. According to media reports, the US and Ukraine have reached agreement on most of the plan. Rubio also confirmed that Washington and Kiev agreed to share negotiation channels related to Ukraine’s European path and its possible membership in NATO, issues that, according to recent statements by the European parties, will not be included in the new draft. Meanwhile, Moscow is expected to react as soon as it receives the official text of the agreement for consideration.
