Vanessa Trump has made her breast cancer diagnosis public through a post on social media, indicating that she has already begun medical treatment.
The 48-year-old, ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr. and mother of five, revealed that she is working closely with doctors to cope with the disease and that she also underwent surgery earlier this week.
"I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. While this is not news anyone expects to hear, I am working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan," Vanessa wrote on Instagram.
She said she is trying to remain strong and optimistic during this difficult period, thanking her family and closest people for their support.
"I remain focused and optimistic, surrounded by the love and support of my family, my children, and the people closest to me ," she said.
After the news was released, there was no shortage of supportive reactions. Ivanka Trump wished her a speedy recovery, while Vanessa's eldest daughter, Kai, posted a photo with her mother accompanied by the message: "The strongest person I know. I love you."
