Traffic blockades were organized in several cities in Serbia this morning in protest against police brutality. The protests came in response to violence by the authorities and the party of President Aleksandar Vučić.
Organizers stressed that this is a call for justice and respect for civil rights. Students called on citizens to participate in protests in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Niš and Kragujevac.

In Belgrade, the blockade officially began at 7 a.m. Serbian gendarmerie intervened to disperse some of the protesters and clear the road.
However, many drivers refused to continue on the road as a sign of solidarity. This led to a complete traffic blockage on several main axes.
Meanwhile, the Serbian gendarmerie has continued to arrest students in front of the faculty, and even in the meadow.
