Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that Russia wants to fully restore relations with the United States, presenting this as a rational step towards a balance in today's multipolar world.
Seeking to portray himself as an "agent of peace" on the global stage, Putin said the differences between the two countries were natural, but stressed the need for sincere cooperation.
" There are many differences between Russia and the US, but this is normal for big countries ," Putin said.
He praised the approach of US President Donald Trump's administration, describing it as straightforward and not hypocritical. According to him, Trump and his team act as rational actors acting in the interests of their country, just like Russia.
Despite rising tensions over the war in Ukraine, Putin stressed that Russia is interested in fully restoring relations with the United States.
" In today's multipolar world, this harmony and balance that I have spoken about can only be restored through joint work ," Putin concluded.
