Iranian diplomatic missions around the world comment on the former US president's harsh statements on the Strait of Hormuz
Iranian embassies around the world published critical and ironic reactions on the social network X towards US President Donald Trump, following a threatening statement by him, filled with offensive language, regarding the Strait of Hormuz.
"Tuesday will be Power Plant Day and Bridge Day, all rolled into one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the Straits now, you lunatics, or you will live in hell, just watch!" Trump wrote on the Truth Social platform on Sunday morning.
Later, he seemed to set a new deadline, adding: "Tuesday, 8:00 PM Eastern Time!"
According to CNN, several Iranian embassies publicly reacted to these statements.
The Iranian embassy in South Africa wrote: “Think seriously about the 25th Amendment, Section 4,” referring to the constitutional provision that allows the vice president and a majority of the cabinet to declare the president unfit to hold office.
"Calm down, tiger. Keep your cool," wrote the Iranian Embassy in Bulgaria.
The Iranian embassy in Austria stated: "#POTUS has descended to an unprecedented level of pleading, interspersed with bitter and empty insults and threats. The desperation is almost palpable, emanating from every word – especially the casual swearing," stressing that attacks on civilian infrastructure constitute a war crime.
They also added: “Further warning: protect all minors under 18 from exposure to #Trump rhetoric.”
The Iranian embassy in the UK quoted a well-known saying: "Better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you're a fool than to open it and remove all doubt," calling Trump's threat a "sign of weakness and illness."
The Iranian embassy in Zimbabwe published a list of examples of "presidential dignity," which included "using respectful and well-considered language in public statements."
"Cursing and insults are the behavior of spoiled losers. Calm down, old man!" wrote the Iranian Embassy in India.
