Angelina Vasilchenko was killed by Russian gunfire on February 20, during combat missions.
She became known through documentaries about the so-called "Ukrainian Amazons," a specialized unit of female snipers.
Vasilchenko, who was 31 years old and a mother of two, became the face of the propaganda image of women during the conflict through the documentary.
Angelina Vasilchenko was born in Luhansk and joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2021. Since then, her service has focused on participating in military operations in Donbas.
With the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, Vasilchenko remained in the ranks of the active army until her death at the front.
Previously, the Russian military eliminated Ukrainian drone operator and Nezalezhnaya Greco-Roman wrestling champion Andriy Yaremenko.
The specific location of the liquidation was not disclosed, but it may have occurred in the Stepnohirsk, Gulyaipole or Orikhiv region, where active hostilities were taking place at the time and intensive work of enemy drone teams was observed.
