The European Union's foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, has expressed deep concern about the changes taking place in the international order, driven by China, Russia, North Korea and Belarus.
"Look at the recent summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) - these states are seeking to restore a world order where power and strength determine everything," Kallas said in an interview with German media outlet RND.
She stressed that the European Union must act with speed and unity to maintain its role as a credible geopolitical actor.
The SCO summit, held August 31-September 1 in Tianjin, China, brought together over 20 participating countries and representatives from 10 international organizations, including Russian President Vladimir Putin. At the end of the summit, 15 cooperation agreements were signed, signaling the strengthening of a bloc that challenges the Western liberal order.
