A powerful explosion at a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department training center has left at least three dead and several injured.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday morning at the Biscailuz Center Academy, east of the city, a complex known for training specialized units, including bomb squads and firefighting technical officers.
According to FBI and US media sources, the explosion occurred during a practical handling of explosives. A joint investigation between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is underway.

Aerial footage released by KABC-TV shows a chaotic scene: damaged patrol cars, burning vans and explosive materials transported to a safe distance. The area has been cordoned off by emergency services and declared off-limits to the public.
US Attorney General Pam Bondi confirmed the deaths of at least three officers and called the incident "a horrific incident."
"Federal agents are on the scene. We are working to learn more," she said in a post on X.
California Congressman Jimmy Sanchez said the explosion “took the lives of at least three deputies.” Meanwhile, LA Mayor Karen Bass confirmed the presence of the LAPD bomb squad and expressed solidarity with the families of the victims.
