
A tragedy occurred today in Marcianise, in the province of Caserta, Italy, where three people lost their lives as a result of an explosion in the premises of an "Ecopartenope" waste processing factory.
Italian media report that the victims are three workers, including the company owner, who were working near a warehouse when the explosion occurred.
A fourth person is still missing, while two others were slightly injured.
The explosion is thought to have been caused by a shock wave created by a tank of used oil, which blew up, causing a strong tremor in the area.
According to preliminary evidence, the workers were thrown several meters into the air by the force of the explosion.
Several firefighting teams are at the scene and authorities are continuing operations to search for the missing person and investigate the circumstances of the incident.
