Spain has evacuated all its diplomatic staff from its embassy in Tehran as Iran continues to face airstrikes from the United States and Israel.

The news was confirmed by Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares, who announced in a message on social media that the operation has been successfully completed.

"We have just successfully completed the evacuation of the Spanish embassy in Iran," Albares wrote.

According to him, the ambassador and the last essential personnel remaining in Tehran have crossed the border into Azerbaijan, completing the process of leaving the diplomatic staff from the country.

The minister added that other Spanish embassies in the region and the crisis center in Madrid continue to operate 24 hours a day, providing assistance to citizens through emergency lines.

Meanwhile, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has criticized the recent attacks on Iran, stressing that the Spanish government's position is clear: "no to war."

The embassy evacuation comes at a time of high tension in the Middle East, as clashes between Iran, Israel and the United States have raised concerns about a wider escalation of conflict in the region.
