British Prime Minister Keir Starmer spoke today with French President Emmanuel Macron about US tariffs.
Downing Street says the two leaders agreed that a trade war is in no one's interests.
" Starmer and Macron agreed that nothing should be off the table and that it was important for business to be updated on developments. They also shared concerns about the global economic impact of security, particularly in South-East Asia ," a Downing Street spokesman said.
They also spoke about the war in Ukraine, where they discussed the good progress that has been made in the coalition of dancers.
" The British Prime Minister and the French President agreed to remain in close contact over the coming weeks ," the statement added.
