US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has given an interview to US media regarding the war situation in Ukraine.
Asked if a peace agreement could be reached, Rubio stressed that Russia and Ukraine would have to make concessions to secure a peace agreement.
Rubio added that both sides want things they won't be able to get and that it may not be possible for the US to create a scenario to end the war in Ukraine.
Rubio said that to reach a solution, there must be open discussions on security guarantees for Ukraine, a topic expected to be at the center of Monday's meeting with Zelensky and other international leaders.
"I'm not saying we're on the verge of a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine, but there are enough moves that justify another meeting with President Zelensky ," Rubio said.
