British automotive giant Jaguar-Land Rover has said it will suspend deliveries to the US.
The company said it needed time to work to "address the new trade terms" of Donald Trump's tariffs.
" The US is an important market for JLR's luxury brands. As we work to address the new trading conditions with our business partners, we are taking a number of short-term actions, including a delivery pause in April, while we develop our medium to long-term plans ," a company spokesperson said.
JLR's decision came after a 25% tax on all cars imported into America began on Thursday and the base rate of 10% went into effect today.
British car firms are grappling with new trade rules, trying to navigate the consequences.
The UK automotive industry is expected to be hit hard by the new tariffs.
