According to BILD , five injured people were found in an apartment on Wichmannstrasse in Berlin's Tiergarten district.
Five people were injured in a shooting in Berlin on Sunday evening. Two of them are reported to be in critical condition, the incident said.
Numerous police and fire forces have arrived at the scene, but details of the causes and circumstances are still unknown.
On Budapester Straße, opposite the InterContinental Berlin hotel, police officers armed with automatic weapons surrounded the area, while investigations are still ongoing.
According to German media outlet Bild, five injured people were found in an apartment on Wichmannstraße in the Tiergarten district. Two of them are reportedly in critical condition and are receiving treatment in hospital.
A representative of the police operations center stated that there is no additional official information at the moment, as investigations are continuing on the ground. It is reported that several people have been arrested in connection with the incident, without giving details on their number or identity.
According to preliminary information, gunshots were heard in the apartment located on the fifth floor. The case is expected to be transferred to a special homicide investigation unit.
According to sources, one of the injured managed to go to the Franziskus-Krankenhaus hospital on his own to seek medical help. Meanwhile, emergency teams provided first aid at the scene to a seriously injured woman, a man and two other people, who were then transported to different hospitals.
The police continue to guard the area around the hospital with increased forces, as well as the scene of the incident on Wichmannstraße, which remains isolated. The operation is still ongoing.
