US President Donald Trump declared that the US had nothing to do with the attack on Iran last night.
Through a post on his social network X, Trump also issued a stern warning to Tehran not to involve the US in the conflict.
"If we are attacked in any form, the full power and strength of the American military will descend upon you at levels never seen before," Trump said.
However, he added that a peace agreement between Iran and Israel is feasible.
"We can easily reach an agreement between Iran and Israel and end this bloody conflict," he said.
This spring, Trump gave Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei a 60-day deadline to negotiate a nuclear deal, warning of consequences if a deal was not reached. During that time, he asked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to delay any military action against Iran to create space for diplomacy.
After Israel launched its attacks on Iran on Friday, Trump told CNN: "I don't know if you know, but I gave them a 60-day warning and today is the 61st day."
