Tensions rise/ US embassy in Beirut closed, Qatar joins the war; alarm sounds in
The war doesn't stop.

The conflict in the Middle East is deepening with new developments that directly affect diplomatic missions and several countries in the region.

The United States Embassy in Riyadh has been hit again by an attack that caused the partial collapse of the building's roof, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing informed sources. Diplomatic personnel, who had been previously warned of the danger, remain sheltered in secure premises.

At the same time, the US announced the closure of its embassy in Beirut "until further notice", due to rising tensions in the region, according to a statement published on the X network by the diplomatic mission.

Meanwhile, according to Al Jazeera, Israeli aircraft are striking the city of Sidon in southern Lebanon. The Israel Defense Forces had earlier announced an attack on a missile site in Lebanon, which they said was being used to strike the Golan Heights. Israeli authorities have also issued evacuation orders for several buildings in Sidon, warning of an imminent operation against Hezbollah.

Greek media reports suggest that Qatar has launched attacks on targets in Iran and that Saudi Arabia may follow suit. If confirmed, these developments would constitute a direct extension of the conflict beyond the Israel-Iran clash.

In this climate of tension, the United Kingdom has announced the deployment of anti-drone helicopters and the destroyer HMS Dragon to Cyprus. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer informed the President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, of the decision during a telephone conversation.

Recent developments indicate an increased risk of wider regional involvement, as attacks, counterattacks, and security measures are intensifying on several fronts simultaneously.
