
The European Union canceled the meeting that was to be held with Western Balkan leaders in Skopje, following the tragedy in Kocani.
The meeting between the leaders was to be held this week on March 19 and 20 in North Macedonia to discuss the financial package to be provided by the EU as part of the growth plan.
At 03:00 on March 16, a nightclub in North Macedonia was engulfed in flames. The fire killed 59 people and injured 155 others.
There were over 1,500 people in the bar, attending a music concert.
It is suspected that the fire was caused by the use of pyrotechnics. So far, 19 people have been detained, including state officials, while last night ten people were remanded in custody. Some of the suspects were injured in the fire and are in hospital.
