Donald Trump, in a surprise statement to reporters outside the White House, issued a strong warning to the Hamas group as he headed to Virginia for a meeting with senior military officers.
" We're just waiting for Hamas to respond ," Trump said, noting that the Palestinian group has "three or four days" to respond to his peace proposal.
According to him, there is not much room for negotiations: " I want the return of the hostages and good behavior on their part ," he emphasized.
If Hamas rejects this offer, Trump said firmly: " I will give Israel a free hand to do what it needs to do ."
This statement comes at a time when tensions in the Middle East are rising, and the US is trying to find a diplomatic channel to curb the escalation of the conflict. But the tone of Trump, known for his harsh and undiplomatic approach, seems to add pressure to the situation on the ground.
