US President Donald Trump, speaking to military commanders in Quantico, Virginia, said that Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky should meet privately to resolve Moscow's war in Ukraine.
He described the war in Ukraine as "the worst since World War II" and expressed belief that there is a way out of the conflict.
"I think we will succeed," the president said.
Trump also expressed his strong disappointment with the Russian president, stating that Putin could have ended the war "within a week."
He added: "I said, you know, this doesn't look so good for you. You've been fighting a war for four years that should have lasted a week. Are you a paper tiger?"
In his speech, Trump also mentioned the situation in Gaza, emphasizing that the conflict remains escalated, despite his administration's mediation efforts.
