Trump: My offer to Kiev is not final

US President Donald Trump has said that the 28-point document presented as a peace plan for Ukraine does not constitute his final offer. Speaking to reporters outside the White House, he was asked if the current proposal was the final version. “No, not at all,” Trump replied, underlining that the process remains open to change.

Trump repeated his claim that the war between Ukraine and Russia “would never have happened” if he had been president during the early years of the conflict. “ We want to bring peace. This should have been resolved a long time ago. We’re trying to end this war, one way or another, it has to end, ” he said.

During the statements, the American president also used an ambiguous comment, when he said: “ Then he can continue to fight as long as his heart desires .” It is not known whether this was referring to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy or another party involved in the conflict.

Earlier, during an Oval Office meeting with New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, Trump said Zelenskyy "would have to like" the US plan. He added that the United States "believes we have found a path to peace," while stressing that the Ukrainian leader must give his approval to the proposed solution.

The American plan continues to be at the center of international debate, as Kiev, Moscow, and Western allies analyze next diplomatic steps.
